Initial situation
The player was marketing his image through several partners, with rights, terms and revenues never coming together in one place. Obligations towards club, association and kit suppliers overlapped.
Our task
We mapped the legal position, renegotiated the sponsorship agreements and built a structure in which the image rights are held, licensed and accounted for.
Our contribution
A full inventory of existing obligations, separation of club and individual rights, uniform standards for term, territory and use, and the setup and governance of the company, coordinated with advisors at home and abroad.
- A clear line between club rights and individual rights
- Uniform standards for term, territory and use
- A structure that treats marketing and career planning as one
Outcome
The rights now sit together in a dedicated company, the agreements follow one standard, and new partnerships can be assessed and signed without breaching existing commitments.
